What full-mouth dental implants really cost
This guide covers travel, process and cost. It contains no clinical advice.
A UK clinic publishes £13,400 for one arch of fixed teeth and £26,800 for both, stating that bone augmentation and the final restorations are included. A Bucharest clinic publishes a full-arch rehabilitation from €2,800 — but that figure covers four implants and a temporary fixed prosthesis, not the final one. Those two numbers are not describing the same finished mouth, and almost every comparison you will read online treats them as if they were.
The published numbers
The UK figure explicitly includes bone augmentation where required and the final permanent restorations. The Bucharest figure explicitly includes four implants and a temporary fixed prosthesis, and says nothing about the final one. Once you add a permanent prosthesis to the second number, the gap narrows considerably — though it does not close, and it should not be expected to.
"All-on-4 from €X" is the single most misleading price format in this industry, because the same phrase is used for a same-day temporary and for a finished, permanent, ceramic-bridged arch. Ask which one the price is for, in writing, and ask what the other one costs.
Why the arithmetic works on full-arch and nowhere else
Travel costs are effectively fixed. Four flights, ten nights and two blocks of leave cost roughly the same whether you are having one crown or twenty-four teeth replaced. On a £400 treatment, that fixed cost is the whole decision. On a £13,000 treatment, it is noise.
This is why the clinics that advertise hardest in this market advertise full-arch work: it is the only category where the saving is large enough to justify an international flight several times over. It is also why the same category attracts the loosest pricing. Both things are true for the same reason.
The four questions that decide the real number
A clinic that answers all four in writing, in a single reply, has told you something important about how it runs. One that answers three and goes quiet on the fourth has told you which line the surprise will come from.
Frequently asked questions
How much do full-mouth dental implants cost in the UK?
One published figure is £13,400 per arch and £26,800 for both, stated as including bone augmentation where required and the final permanent restorations. Radiographs are charged separately at £45 to £200.
How much is a full arch abroad?
A Bucharest clinic publishes full-arch rehabilitation from €2,800, but that covers four implants and a temporary fixed prosthesis rather than the final restoration. The complete figure is higher and needs to be asked for directly.
What is the difference between a temporary and a final prosthesis?
The temporary is fitted at or near surgery so you leave with teeth; the final one is made months later once healing is complete. They differ in material, durability and cost, and quotes often price only the first.
Is All-on-4 the same as full-mouth implants?
All-on-4 is one technique for restoring an arch on four implants. Full-mouth restoration may use four, six or more per arch, and the number changes the price.
Before the full-arch decision, the question of whether the trip is worth it at all.
Is dental tourism worth it?Full-arch quotes are the easiest to misread
Send us what you have been quoted for a full arch. We will separate the temporary from the final prosthesis, list what is not in the number, and tell you what the complete figure is likely to be.
