What usually stops people—and what gives you control
It is normal to hesitate before travelling to Moldova for care. These are the concerns worth taking seriously, paired with the evidence or written commitment that makes each decision safer.
Can care be good when the price is this low?
What helps
Chișinău has reputable modern clinics, multilingual teams and a public medical-device register. Lower local operating costs can create a genuine price advantage.
What keeps you in control
Price is not proof of quality either way. Check the named dentist, exact implant system, final restoration, authorisation and complete written plan.
Will I feel lost in a less familiar country?
What helps
Chișinău is compact, and selected clinics coordinate in English, French and Italian. Direct 2026 routes connect several major European cities.
What keeps you in control
Ask who meets you, who translates clinical discussions and which number answers after hours. Only treat a service as included when it is written.
Could the price change after I arrive?
What helps
Several clinics publish component-level prices, so a serious comparison can begin before travel.
What keeps you in control
Require assumptions and change rules for scans, extractions, grafting, temporary teeth, final teeth, exchange rates and every visit before paying a deposit.
What happens when I am back home?
What helps
A well-planned Moldova case can leave with exportable records, traceable implant details and a named clinic contact.
What keeps you in control
Home dentists set their own rules for taking over work. Arrange a local contact first and agree who responds, what the guarantee covers and who pays if a return is needed.
What it costs
These are selected provider advertisements, not a market average. Compare the same components and stages: a fixture price is not a completed tooth, and a temporary All-on-X bridge is not the definitive restoration.

The number that actually decides it: the completed case
A single restored implant cannot be compared from the fixture price alone. Ask every provider in Moldova and at home to price the same completed-case list below.
- Implant fixture / placement
- €199–650 advertised
- Abutment and implant crown
- Itemise separately; crown listed at €220–400
- Scan, extraction, grafting or temporary work
- Case-specific — not estimated here
- Flights, stay and any return visit
- Price for your actual dates
Comparison checklist: Use identical components, materials and stages at home and in every destination
We compare the same components, materials, stages, aftercare and travel on both written plans, so the saving you see is based on a completed case rather than a headline fixture price.

Patient rights and practical protection
Moldova is an EU candidate country, not a member state. National patient-rights, professional and data-protection laws apply; the EU Cross-border Healthcare Directive does not.
- EU cross-border healthcare
- The directive's reimbursement and member-state contact-point route do not cover treatment in Moldova. Do not interpret EU candidacy or regulatory alignment as current EU membership.
- Your records
- Law 133/2011 applies on this page's verification date. The national data authority says Law 195/2024, which transposes GDPR into Moldovan law, takes effect on 23 August 2026. Ask how to obtain and correct your complete record under the law in force when you are treated.
- Recourse
- Law 263/2005 establishes patient rights, so recourse is not purely contractual. Start with a written complaint to the provider; Moldova's Ministry of Health accepts electronic petitions. Civil or administrative remedies may exist, but cross-border disputes need independent Moldovan legal advice.
- Guarantees
- Treat every guarantee as a separate contract term. Get the covered components, time limits, maintenance conditions, remedy, responsible entity and travel costs in writing; a headline number of years does not answer any of those questions.
Five things to get in writing before you pay a deposit
- Get the treating dentist's full name, qualification and registration details before paying. Because Moldova does not provide a simple patient-facing dentist search, confirm the right to practise directly with the issuing authority or through our documented clinic check.
- Get the implant brand, product line and planned components in writing. Search the product or manufacturer in the public AMDM medical-device register, then ask for the lot or UDI and implant passport after placement.
- Request an itemised plan in the payment currency. If euro values are approximate but payment is in MDL, record the exchange-rate rule and the date on which it is fixed.
- Obtain the guarantee and aftercare protocol as documents. They should identify who responds, within what time, what can be handled at home, and who pays for revision work and travel.
- Ask for the clinic's authorisation and professional-liability insurance details, then verify them with the named issuer rather than relying on a logo or badge.
The AMDM medical-device register is public and linked below. Individual-dentist status is confirmed separately with the issuing authority before a clinic can move from our recommended shortlist to case-level verification.
Clinics worth comparing in Moldova
Our editorial shortlist starts with public evidence: named clinicians, transparent prices or treatment detail, traceable credentials and support for international patients. A clinic is not a fit until the named dentist and written plan pass the case-level checks below.
This is an editorial shortlist, not a paid ranking. Public reputation, treatment transparency and international-patient support were checked on 15 August 2026. Before an introduction, we still compare the named dentist, complete written plan, aftercare and authorisation for your case. If a clinic later pays a referral fee, we will disclose it; payment will never buy a higher position.
Swipe or use the arrows to compare. All details open at their original source.
What a clinic has to pass before it appears here
- Named clinician and right to practise
We need the clinician's identity, qualification, registration details and the issuing authority, verified against an authoritative record or directly with that authority.
- Written, complete quote
The quote must separate diagnostics, preparation, surgical components, temporary work, final restoration, follow-up and exclusions in the currency actually charged.
- Traceable implant system
Brand, product line and components are checked against the AMDM register; the patient must receive the lot or UDI and implant passport after placement.
- Aftercare and guarantee
We need the written protocol and guarantee, including response time, home-country coordination, exclusions, remedy and responsibility for travel.
- Provider authorisation and insurance
The legal provider, facility authorisation and professional-liability insurance must be identifiable and independently confirmable.
How a case actually runs with us
Everything above is what to check before you commit. This is what happens after you do — the process we run, not an outcome we promise. Each step below is software that exists today, not a plan.
You send what you already have
Photos, any imaging you hold and what is actually bothering you. A structured medical questionnaire flags anything that affects healing or bleeding before a clinician looks at the case. Nothing is booked and nothing is paid at this stage.
A named dentist reviews it, and you get a written plan
The estimate is built on the FDI dental chart, itemised per tooth, with the price range and what it excludes stated on the document itself. No model output reaches you without a clinician having confirmed it first — that barrier is enforced in the code, not by policy.
Nothing proceeds until you accept the plan
You approve it electronically, with a timestamp and a version number. If anything changes afterwards, the system creates a new version, records the reason and asks you to accept again. You can always see what changed and why.
The trip is built around the clinical sequence
Flights, transfers, accommodation and every appointment sit on one timeline. A dependency engine refuses impossible orderings — a fitting cannot be scheduled too soon after an impression, and a flight cannot be booked too soon after surgery. Move one appointment and everything downstream recalculates.
You know what to prepare before you fly
A checklist of documents, analyses, imaging and medical preparation, with a countdown and what is due in the next seven days. This is the phase existing dental-tourism software covers worst, and the one where trips actually go wrong.
You fly home with a complete record — and we keep going
A discharge dossier with the treatment carried out, the components used with their brands and reference numbers, and the imaging, in a form your own dentist can read and you can share with them. Then structured follow-up runs for 12 months or more, with a clinical triage path when an answer looks concerning. The treatment takes 5–10 days; the risk shows up in the months after, and that is where almost nobody is looking.
What happens when you get home
- Will your own health system pick it up?
- Arrange a home dentist before travelling and ask what records they need. Public systems and private dentists in every home market set their own rules for taking over overseas work; emergency help is different from routine completion of another clinic's plan.
- What this market usually offers
- International clinics commonly offer a coordinator, remote contact and scheduled reviews. Put the response time, record handover, local-care coordination and revision arrangements into the written plan before treatment.
- What we do about it
- Our enquiry starts with the paper trail: the itemised plan, named clinician, device system, records handover, emergency contact and written aftercare. We do not send your details to a clinic without your permission.
Before you contact any clinic, run the checks. Our verification guide is the list we use ourselves, in the order that saves the most time.
How to verify a dental clinic abroadFrequently asked questions
Is dental treatment in Moldova safe?
Yes. Patients can find reputable, modern dental clinics in Moldova, with experienced teams, digital equipment and services built for international patients. Safe care still depends on the specific dentist and plan, so confirm the named clinician, sterilisation process, device traceability, written quote and aftercare before irreversible treatment.
How much does a dental implant cost in Moldova?
The clinic pages checked on 15 August 2026 advertise fixture line items from €199 to €650. That is not the price of a completed tooth. A crown on an implant is listed separately at €220–€400 by one clinic, while diagnostics, extraction, grafting and travel depend on the case.
Which European cities have direct flights to Chișinău?
HiSky's summer 2026 network connects Chișinău directly with London, Dublin, Paris, Milan, Venice, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Other airlines may add options. Check the operating carrier and exact airport for your treatment dates.
Do visitors need a visa for Moldova?
Many EU/EEA, British, Irish, US, Canadian and Australian visitors can enter without a visa for a qualifying short stay. The exact allowance and document rules are passport-specific, so check Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs table before travel.
Is Moldova in the EU?
No. Moldova is an EU candidate country and accession negotiations are under way, but it is not a member state. The EU Cross-border Healthcare Directive does not cover treatment received there.
What patient protections apply in Moldova?
Moldova's Law 263/2005 establishes patient rights and responsibilities, so protection is not limited to a clinic's contract. A complete written agreement still matters because it records the provider, planned work, price, guarantee and aftercare for your case.
Does GDPR apply to my dental records in Moldova?
Moldovan national law applies. Law 133/2011 is in force on 15 August 2026; Law 195/2024, which the national authority says transposes GDPR into Moldovan law, takes effect on 23 August 2026. This does not turn Moldova into EU jurisdiction.
What happens if something goes wrong after I return home?
Your written aftercare plan should name the clinic contact, response time, records handover, local-care coordination and responsibility for revision travel. Emergency systems differ by home country and do not automatically complete another clinic's plan, so arrange a home dentist before you travel.
How many trips will an implant case need?
Do not infer this from an advertised package. Ask the treating clinician to set out the stages and timing after examining you, then price every required trip. Whether a particular protocol is appropriate is a clinical decision, not a travel preference.
How do I verify an implant or dentist?
For the implant, obtain the exact brand and line, search the AMDM public device register, and retain the lot or UDI and implant passport. For the dentist, obtain full registration details and confirm them with the issuing authority; our case-level check follows the same route before an introduction.
Do you take a commission from clinics?
This shortlist is not pay-to-rank. We may earn a disclosed referral fee when a patient chooses a partner clinic, but payment cannot buy a higher position or replace our checks. Your enquiry details are never shared with a clinic without your permission.
